Shadows from the Stage

The verses are numerous and the cliches are strong when it comes to the life of a butterfly.

The symbolism of transformation, from something sluggish, always into something beautiful. How the chrysillus waits and patience pervails, and at last the climactic reveal of the delicate paper wings painted with pretty oil colors. But what about worms whose destinies are not to develop wings and fly up,up,up into the sky? What is the life of the wallowy, wiggling worms who inch their ways, ever in the mud and dirt, their views of the earth always from the lowest point?
